Journey so far
Our journey began in 2021 with a simple but powerful vision: to deliver a better product that hiring teams truly deserve— something built specifically for them, not retrofitted from disconnected tools designed with other workflows in mind.
Drawing from my personal experience scaling teams at Stripe, Uber, and Freshworks, I’ve seen firsthand how deeply flawed traditional recruitment tools were; Fragmented systems, siloed tools, and constant firefighting—it’s a painful reality for many.
On February 14, 2022, we launched our first product, Kula Flows, to solve a very real problem—recruiters needed a way to build predictable, scalable pipelines in the middle of the Great Resignation.
Candidates held the cards, and hiring teams needed every advantage they could get. With Kula Flows, we gave teams that advantage by automating outreach and making candidate engagement seamless. In just a short time, we helped over 100 companies take back control of their hiring process.
But this was more than a product launch. It was the spark of a movement. A movement toward rethinking how recruiting should work, a shift in power from tools that merely "tracked" candidates to tools that truly empowered recruiting teams. We learned quickly that our mission wasn’t just about filling the top of the funnel— it was about transforming the entire hiring experience, from start to finish.
And as the world around us changed, so did we.
Enter the era of consolidation
Late 2022 brought seismic shifts to the job market. With interest rates soaring and a pivot toward responsible growth, companies faced budget cuts and tightened purse strings. Recruiting teams, once operating in a candidate-driven market, now had to grapple with an employer-driven landscape. This shift revealed a stark truth: point solutions— those tools solving just one problem— were no longer viable.
Recruiting leaders struggled with fragmented tech stacks, filled with tools that were difficult to adopt, provided poor ROI, and ultimately faced the chopping block.
The demand for a comprehensive, all-in-one solution grew louder, and we knew it was time to address this need head-on.
Over the past few years, we’ve listened to feedback from organizations of all sizes, but especially from those navigating the “messy middle”—companies with 50 to 1,000 employees. For them, scaling meant their tech stack expanded uncontrollably, leaving them with multiple logins, scattered data sources, and vendor fatigue.
It was clear: hiring teams didn’t want more tools. They wanted fewer systems that worked better together.
Today, we’re answering that call. We’re cleaning up the messy middle with the launch of the Kula All-In-One ATS.
Why another ATS? Because you deserve better

So, instead of creating just another applicant tracking system, we used my experience as a recruiter— and thousands of conversations with people like you— to build something entirely different. Three key themes emerged that shaped our approach:

We dug deep to address this issue by designing for every persona involved in the hiring process.
2. A new era of recruiting: Most ATS platforms today were built for a 2000s recruiting world—a mere system of record. But we’re in the modern era, and recruiting teams deserve tools that help them operate efficiently, not waste time on manual, repetitive tasks. 3. Stagnation in the market: While Greenhouse and Lever have dominated the ATS space for over a decade, innovation has slowed as both companies have been acquired. Prices have increased, but the features and support haven’t kept pace. We believe it’s time for a change, and we’re here to deliver it.
